Welcome to the Wiccan Church of Canada

September 2026

Greetings.

As you have probably noticed, we have made some changes to our schedule for upcoming rituals and events.

The Wiccan Church of Canada was formed in 1979 in Toronto by Tamara and Richard James as a way for people to find and connect with the Craft in a time when there were no “public” way to gain entry into the worship of the Gods.  We provided public rituals and public classes weekly, growing to set up Temples in other cities in Canada.

However, what we’ve been doing for the past 47 years is no longer working. COVID and its lockdowns have forced people to find other ways of connecting, and as a result, new groups have formed. Some are in places where Craft groups did not or could not exist before COVID.
These groups are not our competitors; they are doing exactly what the WCC had in mind when it first formed. They are bringing the Craft out of the closet to those who have been looking for it. Craft is not a competition; it’s a way of life.

So here is our ritual schedule:

Sunday, October 25. 2026                       Ritual – Toronto Temple
Saturday, December 19, 2026                 Ritual – Hamilton Temple
Sunday, January 24, 2027                       Ritual – Toronto Temple
Saturday, March 13, 2027                        Ritual – Hamilton Temple
Sunday, April 11, 2027                              Ritual – Toronto Temple
Saturday, June 19, 2027                           Ritual – Hamilton Temple
Sunday, July 18, 2027                               Ritual – Toronto Temple
Saturday, Sep 18, 2027                             Ritual – Hamilton Temple

We are not giving away our Rituals. They are not ours to give away. They are yours. They belong to all who wish to celebrate the old Gods. How you choose to celebrate and with whom is up to you. It is important that YOU acknowledge them in whatever way you can.

By offering in-person public rituals at times when no one else is, we have a chance to bring the community together at different times of the year. Eight rituals is the starting point, not the destination.  The above list of dates is the minimum, with other dates being added based on availability.

To add to our current offerings, we will be adding special event dates, such as:

In-person specialty classes – These day long classes will be spread out over the coming year.  They will be “make and take” classes, where small-group participants will have the opportunity to learn hands-on activities and will walk away with items made in class.  For example, a class on Oils and Incense held at The Occult Shop, where you will learn how to formulate a blend for your magical workings based on established correspondences; the making of a Besom to sweep clean your ritual spaces; the creation of a scrying medium and how to use it; or the making of a lockable Book of Shadows for all your Ritual creations.

Online Sabbat Gatherings – specific online gatherings for those who may not have local Sabbat gatherings available in their area.  This will be an opportunity for community to share how they celebrate, whether it be meditations, crafts, recipes, poetry or magics.

Weekly Online Classes – of course our online classes will continue weekly.  There will be no change to this offering.  We started doing online classes when COVID hit our ability to meet in person and has continued since then.  We have been able to reach out and develop community around the world, and we continue to grow.

Weekly Online Community Get-Togethers – these get togethers will also continue weekly.  This too was formed with the lock-down of COVID and has been a tremendous support for community members, with attendees developing a caring, engaging group of people.  We have laughed and cried, helping each other through both good and bad times, shared knowledge with each other and  highlighted the books we have read.  It is a safe space to share without politics or proselytizing.

Sword & Chalice Newsletter – If you haven’t read a copy of the Sword & Chalice Newsletter, you should.  This is the voice of your community – all of the articles are written by members of your community.  It comes out eight times a year and includes regular articles such as Wheel of the Year, Bella’s Book Nook, Stones with Sorcha, The Sabbat Table, Herb Lore with Glyns, and Community Resources and Events.  Not only is it informative, but it is beautiful to look at.

Special Events throughout the year – There will also be a variety of special events throughout the year to bring community together.  Auctions, game-night, divination nights, just to name a few.  The Toronto Cauldron Kaffeeklatsch is an example of community coming together to share and enjoy each other’s company.

We hope that our new line-up of events will bring people together, create education and support our growing community.   If you want to reach out to us, you can email us at [email protected]

We look forward to the upcoming year,

In Service the Gods and our Community Members,

On behalf of the Wiccan Church of Canada,

We are a community of like-minded individuals who gather together to worship the Gods. As an organization, the WCC's goal is threefold:
  • First, to assist practicing Wiccans in achieving a spiritual balance that brings them into true harmony with the Gods
  • Second, to bring to the non-Wiccan population an understanding that we are a positive, reputable and life-affirming religious and lifestyle alternative.
  • Third, to achieve for Wiccans the same rights and freedoms enjoyed by other more mainstream religions

For information regarding public rituals, please see the  Wiccan Church of Canada Facebook page (www.facebook.com/groups/239073890367405 ) or email [email protected]
